• Question: What advice would you give to someone who would love to be a scientist?

      Make something innovative, think in a different angle, find the solution in different perspective, imagine as much as you can and find way to implement that in reality. Ask yourself why every time.

      If you’re interested in how the world works, science is for you.

      And you don’t have to sacrifice parts of yourself that are not scientific. For instance I loved art as a teenager and now I use it in my work all the time, in drawing fossils and technical drawing / design for images for scientific posters and articles, and also in designing materials for the public.

      I’m also a big fan of bright colours and in 2009 I started working on fossil colours – in the early years, specifically on metallic colours in fossil insects. Aesthetically pleasing AND scientifically important!
