• Question: why do planes stay up

      Lift, weight, thrust and drag. These are the four force acting on it to keep it up. weight acts downward which is counterbalanced by others.

      Not my field, but apparently the angle of the wings and the (enough) speed forward which drives wind (air pressure) under the wings creates a force upward and neutralizes the downward gravity force, so it does not fall down (you decrease speed and change the angle/position of part of the wings, then it gradually falls, i.e. lands, as the upward force below the wings decreases).
